Pocket House

Simone de Gale Architects

London Housing | 2021

During my time at Simone de Gale Architects, I had the privilege of designing a pocket house for a private client. The property's total area spans 21.10 m2, with a GIA (Gross Internal Area) of 16.93 m2, which presented several challenges and complexities owing to the confined floor space.

The pocket house has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate 1-2 occupants and comprises multiple levels. The basement floor encompasses the kitchen, dining, and living spaces, while the ground floor houses additional living areas and a bathroom. Ascending to the first floor, one can find the master bedroom, and the second floor features a single bedroom along with a balcony.

Throughout this project, I actively participated in various aspects, including the development of architectural plans and the design of the house's exterior. Additionally, I created architectural renders to effectively communicate the vision to the client. Collaborating closely with Simone de Gale, we meticulously refined the design to meet the requirements for planning permission.
